'UX4a' is a variation of the UX4 pathogen. Hosts for the variant will become noticeably stiff in their gaits, and have practically no sensitivity to pain. Approximately 1/4th of hosts of UX4a become creatures known as 'Slicers'. UX4a tends to show symptoms up to six times faster than UX4, roughly clocking at just 3 hours.
The disease has spread to the town of Bentlix, the city of Jaedon, and numerous isolated pockets in Southern Canada.
